Wondering how to wear a faux leather skirt in Summer? I’ve got your back.
Faux leather skirts are a permanent fixture in my wardrobe all year round. Rain or shine, I want to wear them. As long as my legs are tanned that is. Faux leather skirts can be dressed up or down and I find, they go with everything. Cute shirt? Tuck it into a faux leather skirt. Sexy cami top? Wear it with a faux leather skirt. You name it, it goes.
However, the issue with faux leather is that it retains heat. Unlike real leather (which is a no-no) it doesn’t breathe or stretch so wearing faux leather in the Summer can get pretty sticky. If you’re already feeling warm in the Summer heat, you’re probably going to avoid faux leather. But don’t! I know how to wear a faux leather skirt in summer and I’m here to help. My tips are tried and tested because I love the way faux leather looks in the Summer months.

First things first, get a faux leather skirt that has a nice soft lining. Maybe in a breathable fabric or maybe not. I just find that the softer the lining, the more comfortable it is wearing faux leather. Then grab the talcum powder!
No, this is not going to be a Ross from Friends moment of madness.
As long as you don’t add a load of lotion, we’re all good. Use the talcum powder around your thighs to help absorb any moisture that will come when you step outside into the heat. I mainly focus on the inner thighs which is where it gets most warm for me as I’m not living that thigh gap life.
Then finally, wear breathable lightweight knickers. This is not the time to wear the biggest and thickest pants. Even if they do make your stomach look as flat as pancake. Cotton knickers are breathable and super comfortable. They’re without a doubt your best bet to surviving faux leather in Summer!
Without these steps, my faux leather skirts would be left in my winter wardrobe and I’m not about that. I like my clothes to be adaptable for all seasons. My faux leather skirt works with light tops in the Summer and cute chunky knits in the winter which is why they’re a permanent fixture in my wardrobe all year round.
My faux leather skirt is from New Look is out of stock but here’s an excellent green alternative, here.
