I wanted to share my 2017 beauty favourites because they are the real favourites.
Monthly favourites are great and all, but I am always so interested in seeing what made it through the year. To me, 2017 beauty favourites are the items I’ve raved about constantly, bought over and over and feel like my make up/skincare selection wouldn’t be complete without it in.
They’re the keepers, the trusted and the ‘I can’t live without’ items. So without further-ado, here are my 2017 beauty favourites.
My holy grail of dry shampoos. I discovered this well over half way into the year but it’s stuck with me. It’s the nicest smelling and easiest to apply dry shampoo I’ve ever used. There’s no ‘white powder’ left on your hair, it brushes in easily and it does a really quick job in making your hair look super fresh. Did I mention that it smells nice? Because it really, really does.
I was gifted this oil towards the end of 2016 and it’s perfect. I don’t use much and I don’t use it all the time, but I am in love with it regardless. There’s something in this oil that makes it a killer for spots, no joke. I am lucky enough to rarely get spots but when those hormones kick in all bets are off. Whenever I have a spot that’s big enough to have its own postcode, I turn to this oil for a couple of days and the size (and the anger) of the spot is reduced. It then heals and disappears in next to no time. When I eventually run out of this, I will be buying it myself, that’s for sure.
I will never buy another liquid eyeliner ever again, for as long as I live. This is so long lasting, easy to apply and it’s so highly pigmented. I am completely obsessed with doing my winged eyeliner with this product. I tried a few different liners, mainly to find a dupe, but I couldn’t find anything with this quality. I was being cheap back then, but I now know that you pay for the quality you get. Through rain or shine, my liquid eyeliner remains!
My favourite high end foundation. It’s so great for my sensitive skin and the coverage is amazing. Full coverage foundations never last “all day” but with a quick top up late afternoon you can wear this foundation way into the evening with a flawless look. I have the shade ‘Porcelain’ and it’s the most perfect match to my skin tone. It’s not a heavy full coverage foundation, you don’t feel caked in make up to achieve a flawless smooth finish. Which is something that’s hard to come by!
A firm favourite for almost 2 years. No matter if my skin is pale or tanned, this bronzer is a good match. The highlighter side I don’t use as a specific highlighter on it’s own, as I don’t think it’s pigmented enough for the highlight look I strive for. But I do mix it in with the bronzer for a nice effect on my contour. A little goes a long way you barely need any product to contour, plus it’s so easy to blend! This is a constant in my make up bag.
This lipstick was a Christmas gift last year and it’s been something I’ve truly loved. It’s my go to pink nude lipstick, whatever the occasion. Paired with a lipliner, it really makes your lips look plump and full. The formula is creamy but not creamy to the point that it doesn’t feel like it sets on your lips. It’s a great lipstick colour for my pale skin but also when I am tanned. The rose gold case is so beautiful and the product really does last. It’s also got great staying power.
I can’t remember a time before this face cream. It’s so hydrating and creamy. It works really well with my sensitive skin and without sounding weird, I enjoy applying it. It’s a thick consistency yet sinks into the skin beautifully – I swear you can almost feel the hydration happening. It’s a bit on the pricey side of £30 a pot but in different corners of the internet, you can grab yourself a bargain. I am forever finding great deals on this product and often saving 50% or more on the price.
My god, how can this post be complete with our this hero of a product? This product I buy over and over again without fail. It’s my favourite lip care and it’s great for chapping, pealing and dry skin. It’s my rescue product. It’s a bit pricey but it lasts a long time and to me, that makes the price totally justifiable. It’s a multiple use product as well, so that’s money well spent in my opinion. It’s basically like skincare and first aid in one, which are two things I often need. You’ve got chapped lips? Ok! You’ve got a burn on your skin? You’re sorted!
What are your favourite products from 2017? I’d love to hear from you!
