I am a creature of habit and routine, especially with the way I look. The only difference I will make to my make up is that sometimes I decide against winged eyeliner, and that really only comes down to pure laziness. For a night out I might go for a bright lip colour or some dark eye shadow, but more often than not, I look exactly the same.
I have a lot of make up and a lot of storage for that make up yet I wear the same products daily, typical. I wanted to share my favourite staple pieces that live in my gorgeous New Look make up bag because they’re my go to products and the ones that I love most. I grab this bag every morning knowing that every product I need will be in there. I pocket items such as foundation, eyeliner and my eyebrow gel for touch ups in the day and the rest stays at home.
Bubble Gum Lip Scrub from Lush is the yummiest kind of lip exfoliator around. It’s a must have for my dry lips and the smell is incredible. I always scrub my lips before the application of lipstick or lip balm.
Ka-Brow by Benefit, my gosh, what a product. I don’t know how I lived before this came into my life, gel is amazing for my brows. The perfect colour match and ideal for natural yet full brows.
Maybelline Master Ink is a great eyeliner, not my favourite because it can smudge but nevertheless a good product. The applicator is SO great and I love how precise it is. If only it wouldn’t smudge so easily.
Mac Liquid Lipstick in Lady Be Good was so hard to track down. My fiancé actually found it in an Airport (what a star) because I couldn’t get my hands on it anywhere. I adore the nude peach shade and it goes super well with my pale (and pasty) skin tone. It’s my go to for when I want to wear a natural lip colour to work or it’s a quick upgrade of my make up if I decide to go out last minute.
Maybelline Lash Sensational is incredible. It’s my favourite drugstore mascara by a mile. My one down side is that the waterproof version doesn’t give anywhere near the same quality finish on my lashes as the normal version does. It’s a frustration for me as I wanted to wear it on my wedding day, however I can’t because the waterproof version is rubbish and I don’t want to look like a panda with all the happy tears.
Benefit Roller Lash is a more expensive favourite and I like to dabble with this one quite frequently. It doesn’t give my lashes a full effect I want but they look lovely, subtle and neat.
Maybelline Matt Maker is my go to powder. It’s a great powder to dust over the top of foundation to help set. It seems to last forever because a little goes a long way. It’s not drying on my skin considering it’s a Matt product either.
Bourjois Bronzing Powder and Highlighter due is my favourite at the moment. I don’t use the highlighter as a highlighter by itself, I like to mix it together with the bronzer to contour my cheek bones. It’s a lovely subtle glow that you can build on and I love the packaging, it’s like a book, super cute. (I’m a loser, I know).
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has been a favourite for over a year and a half, I’ve bought it over and over with my love for it never changing. It’s a great medium coverage foundation that’s perfect for my dry skin. The colour of Light Vanilla is a perfect skin colour match. Love, love, love.
A beauty blender needs no explanation, no make up bag is complete without one.
Lord & Berry Clear Lipliner is ideal to have when wearing liquid lipsticks, it helps to stop the product from bleeding. It’s a soft clear pencil and it does the job well. I had this given to me at an event and I absolutely love it.
My Chanel pocket mirror is gorgeous, my favourite pocket mirror of them all.
My brushes are one of each of my favourite brands Spectrum, Real Techniques and Eco Tools. My Spectrum A04 is the strong finish brush, which I use with my bronzer to contour. My Eco Tools Powder brush is for powdering that t-zone and my Real Technique Bold Metal Flat Contour brush is my other option for contouring. Sometimes I use that brush to apply bronzer to my cheek bones and then use my Spectrum A04 brush to blend. It’s a nice option to have.
What’s in your make up bag? I’d love to know!
