Drugstore Highlighters For A Summer Glow

Even though I am an Autumn and Winter kind of girl, Summer make up is my favourite. Beautiful blush colours, gorgeous highlighters and bronzed skin is what I love most. There are so many different products on the market at different prices, how do you even know where to begin? I thought I’d share with you my favourite drugstore highlighters incase you need some inspiration.

The Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter is an old friend of mine. You know those products that you have, that you never turn your back on? This is one of them. It’s the perfect drugstore highlighter when you’re looking to have a light highlight. It’s a shimmery baby pink colour and the product is beautifully sculpted in the compact – it almost makes you want to never use it. I say that it’s a light highlighter, it is, but it’s also build-able if you want to have a stronger look with a lightly pigmented colour. I really enjoy using the product because the shade is gorgeous, especially so on a pale complexion. I enjoy it because it’s build-able for a more tanned complexion, you can be in full control of your highlight.
A very light creamy highlighter is sometimes all you need to finish off a make up look. My current drugstore favourite is the Speedy Highlighter by Collection in Pearl. It’s not very pigmented but sometimes that’s a-ok! A light highlight is often what I want to add to my make up if I’ve decided to go bold on my eyes. This is a really nice cream highlighter if you’re into a subtle make up. Its not build-able or overly pigmented but it gives a subtle yet lovely glow to the cheek bones. It’s a creamy formula so grab a beauty blender and buff it in for a sleek and quick (or should I say speedy?!) highlight.
The Collection Gorgeous Glow Blush Block is a shimmer pink toned blush that compensates for a highlighter if you fancy going down a different road with your make up look. Sometimes I ditch the highlighter and go for a shimmer on the apples of my cheeks to give a bit of colour and a summer glow. Blush Block looks beautiful when I have a slight tan because it brings that colour back into my cheeks. Not necessarily a highlighter, but you won’t need one with this product but it’s a perfect alternative. It’s pigmented, long lasting and has a light shimmer to really brighten up a face, I am a big fan of this product. Online it’s called a bronzing block but on the product packaging, it’s called blush. It’s definitely a blush, weird eh?
The Sleek Highlight Palette in Solstice I’ve talked about in depth on a blog post, which you can read here.
It’s one of the greatest drugstore highlighters I have found to date
and it’s perfect for getting an on point summer highlight. With the
different colours there’s options for different make up looks so you’re
not always stuck with the same old highlight. Unbelievable pigmentation
and great lasting power. This is my favourite drugstore highlight and
it’s a definite one to look into.
