Motiviation Monday: Fitness

For the month of April I have decided to turn every Monday into
Motivation Monday, that’s 4 opportunities to spread a bit of positivity
and motivation around. Monday is by far the least favourite day of the
week, it’s the first day of a long working week where no one is really
feeling inspired, which means it’s the best day to share with you guys
how I keep motivated for different things. Also, Motivation Monday
sounds far better than Motivation Thursday. I am all about alliteration.
Today’s motivation is about fitness and how I get myself up and out of the house to work out.
It’s been an ugly struggle getting my motivation up and running when it comes to fitness but I’ve finally achieved it, with the odd day of relapse. Exercise is an important part of a health lifestyle and diet and you can do it in the style of walking, running, dancing and so on. There are so many forms of exercise that there’s little excuse not to do atleast one. If only picking a new Netflix series worked off calories.

Body confidence
If you’re not confident with your body then you’ve got to do something about it. You’re the only one in control of you. When I started to realise my body confidence was getting low, that’s what kick started my motivation and got my bum into the gym. There’s no point spending your life unhappy with your body and I decided not to be down over something I could change. Summer is coming and we all want that bikini body ready.
Healthy skin
Exercise cleanses your skin from the inside. Increasing your blood flow helps to nourish skin cells and carry away waste products. You sweat out any toxins and the blood circulation helps to give your skin a natural healthy glow. Exercise can help with skin conditions such as Psoriasis (something I suffer with), Ache and Eczema (also something I suffer with), just as your Doctor. I know exercise has definitely made a difference for my Psoriasis.
Fitting back into your summer clothes
If that alone isn’t the best motivation, I am not sure what is. When it’s time to unbox those lovely Summer dresses you’ve kept from last year and realising they don’t fit you is the worst feeling. For me, not being able to fit into an old pair of shorts was a big motivation. I was annoyed at myself for being an inch away from doing them up (with also no chance of sitting down) so I decided to take this as motivation, which was a better option than tears and ice cream.
Pinterest
I don’t encourage comparing yourself to someone else, we are all unique in our way. We should all learn to love ourselves but there’s nothing wrong with a little Pinterest inspiration to spark our own fitness motivation. I have a fitness inspiration board which you can see here. I find this helps to spur me on to my goal of being confident and happy in my own body. I am not unrealistic with it though, I know my body and I have curves, I will never have a skinny frame but I will have a toned one!
Pinterest is also good for tips on working out, I have another board which you can see here. I use this to help me keep things fresh and new in the gym.

I loved this! I definitely agree with healthy skin being good motivation. I had a week off of the gym and healthy eating last week because of my birthday and charity events (all for a good cause eh!) and my skin is paying for it! Back on the wagon today if not only to clear my face up a bit!

I try to post a 'Motivation Monday' post every week. It not only helps give other people inspiration but you'll be surprised how much of the motivation rubs off on yourself. Can't wait for the rest of this series.
