What’s In My Winter Handbag // Blogmas Day Seven

I have many a favourite winter handbag so I am constantly changing handbags, however the contents of them remains the same and I’ve got my winter essential items that come out with me every day.
I find it’s important to be prepared throughout the day and I like to have something for every occasion or problem. I’m not as bad as I used to be, I used to carry everything and the kitchen sink.
Lets keep this short and sweet with my winter handbag essentials.
A bobble hat.
It’s freaking freezing at the moment and despite having long hair that I wear down, my ears get so unbearably cold. A hat is really important for me to keep my ears warm but also to keep my hair flat as the winds at the moment are doing my hair no favours. This bottle hat is from Topshop and I also have a matching scarf, ideal really. I used to feel silly wearing bobble hats but I’m at an age now where I stop caring about what others may think and just want my ears to be warm. Does this mean I am getting old? Oh god…
Gloves.
I love my special gloves that I also have in black. For every blogger and avid phone user, you’ll need gloves that allow you to use your touchscreen phone and these are that. They’re such a genius idea! I picked a two pair set up from Tesco for £3 and I can’t be without them now. You can successfully unlock your phone and write a text, but I wouldn’t go as far to say you’ll have to ability to create a blog post or focus your camera on your hot chocolate in Starbucks, they’re not that advanced… but they do the job. For me, these are ideal as I spent a lot of time traveling around and walking to and from shops, so my fingers get cold and I get unhappy.

Tissues.
I adore my Minnie Mouse tissues from Poundland. It’s always a good idea to have tissues in your bag just incase of spillages, lipstick errors or an unattractive runny nose (it is the season of colds you know!). Carrying tissues around made me feel slightly like an old lady, so I decided that if I was going to be that old lady I’d have fun tissues. They’re also pretty cool if you have children, I know I’d be impressed if my Mum pulled out some Minnie Mouse tissues when I was a kid!
A compact mirror.
Every girl needs a compact mirror on them. Sometimes using the camera on your phone just doesn’t show you enough of your face and there’s nothing worse than food in your teeth or smeared lipstick. During the winter months my skin gets so dry and sore so I like to be able to keep an eye on my skin incase I need to add some moisture.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream.
This is what I would use to add a bit of moisture to my face, especially around my nose area where I get super dry. I also use the 8 hour cream on my lips and it’s heavenly. I don’t go anywhere without 8 hour cream because it is an absolute godsend. Nothing is as soothing and quick to nourish my skin than this stuff. Definitely recommend getting a tube of this stuff in your bag if you suffer with dry skin.
Neutrogena Hand Cream.
Ultimate hand cream right here. I dabble with others throughout the year but this is my winter hand cream for sure. It has a similar ability to the 8 hour cream in that way that the results are so immediate and lasting. However the difference is that the 8 hour cream is greasy and this hand cream isn’t. I adore this hand cream and I have for years, my Mum has also used it for years so I know it’s a good one.
An Autumn/Winter Purse.
My Kate Spade purse I’ve had since last Christmas and I absolutely adore it – just as much then as I do now. My fiance bought it for and I am so grateful for it. I actually use this all year round because I like it that much but I think it’s fabulous A/W purse to have. The colour is amazing and Kate Spade purses are so long lasting and hard wearing. One year on of a lot of bashing around in the bottom of my handbag and there’s not a mark on it!
What do you carry around with you at this time of the year? Let me know in the comments!

Oooooh your Kate Spade purse is beautiful. I'm hoping to buy one when I go to New York in a few months time. I can't leave the house without lip all this time of year. And a hairbrush to sort out my hat hair once I've reached my destination haha.
